Year in Review + Best Blog Posts of 2012

2012

For the past two years, I’ve written a post around New Year’s Day reflecting on the past year and what my resolutions should be for the next year.  Trust me, I have so much confidence in myself it’s unhealthy, but I never thought I would say this: 2012 was a pretty awesome year. I killed 2012. I killed it so hard. Financially, personally, mentally, emotionally, etc., 2012 is resting in peace. Continue reading “Year in Review + Best Blog Posts of 2012”

WordPress.org vs WordPress.com: The Mystery Is Solved

You can search for every answer to any question through Google. I’ve been the one to roll my eyes when someone exclaims they finally figured out Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest and oh boy, how great it is! However, I will admit there are some concepts that you need a real person to talk you through it. At risk for sounding like a complete Internet newb and hypocrite for all the blogging I do, last night I attended a Skillshare class taught by Master Teacher Nate Cooper on what was essentially WordPress for Dummies. Why You Should Be Blogging

I blog...
I don’t aim to become an overnight sensation.
I’m not hoping to find a clever way to pay my rent.
I would never desire for people to question my credibility because I’m known for being repelling and yet get a man.

The reason why I blog is because it’s a freaking smart thing to do – and you should do it too. Continue reading “Why You Should Be Blogging”

My 2011 Year In Review and Five Favorite Blog Posts

Yesterday I read Jocelyn K. Glei’s article on The 99 Percent Simplify Your New Year’s Resolution Process: Reflect, Select, Remove, which stressed the importance of positive reflection when looking ahead to the new year.  2011 was my year of getting over the initial shock of being out of college and in the real world, but in the end, it was unmistakeably a great journey. “I Can’t Quit You” – Why I’m Blogging Again

After somewhat of a hiatus, I’m blogging again.  May 16th, the date I graduated from Hofstra last year, came and went.  On May 22nd this year I watched from the bleachers as my boyfriend Bill walked across the same stage I did a year ago.  Hours before, I had to take a pair of scissors to the sleeves of his gown because in his true fashion, he never ordered his cap and gown like he was supposed to and had to use what was left over.  Continue reading ““I Can’t Quit You” – Why I’m Blogging Again”

My Name is Reb on Le 21eme Arrondissement

In case you missed it,

last Saturday myself and my roommate Steph (The Big Brown Bag) met up in Soho with the adorable Adam Sinding of Seattle-based street style blog Le 21eme Arrondissement to talk about the best coffee (not Starbucks), New York City rent (ridiculous but if you care about locations…) and true beauty (for women it’s always about the hair).  He also took a picture of what we were wearing and did a short video with us saying what we were wearing (Top Shop, Gucci, Enzo Angiolini, American Apparel…Delia’s anyone remember Delia’s?).  I only have a suspicion on how Steph felt (check out her entry here ) but I felt like a dork. However, we did get a positive reaction from our friends about how cute and stylish we were.  To quote my clever friend Brianne “I see two cuties, possibly with booties.”

Make sure to check out our video too – “the scarf is from my MOM!”

This is the first shred of hard evidence that I might actually be fashionable.
