#30DaysofEarly during January was a success. I was able to get back in the routine of waking up early (6 am on weekdays, 9 or 10 am on weekends). As a result, I had more time in the morning before heading to work and eventually realized that I could be wide awake at 6 am, wondering what to do. I started going to the gym again for the first time in 8 months and was able to stay on top of my email inbox.
Many people called me crazy, and I had to agree with them. The last few weeks I was suffering from a cold (damn you surprise NYC winter), so I allowed myself to sleep in on days I knew my body needed it. Moving forward, I can definitely see myself sticking to an “early to rise” schedule for the rest of the year, especially when the sun feels like returning to the world again.
For February, my challenge will be #28DaysofMusic. Each day I must discover a new band I’ve never heard of and listen through their entire discography. This goal / resolution has multiple objectives:
1 – I want to break the habit of recklessly starring tracks on Spotify, never to be found again and having no context of how I came across them in the first place. Instead, I’m making a playlist for each month for better categorization. Here is February 2013’s Spotify playlist – let me know if you have recommendations!
2 – I’m going to Coachella and Governor’s Ball again this year and want to prepared with the proper playlists before going. Check out my Coachella 2013 and Governor’s Ball playlists.
What do you think of this month’s resolution? Silly? Simple? Awesome?
